Edward A. DeVore Sr. of Meadville passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, and is now in the arms of his Father God Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born in Meadville City Hospital on March 23, 1937, the son of the late Fred C. DeVore and Jennie Mason DeVore.
He graduated from Meadville High School in 1955, and after service in the peacetime U.S. Navy and receiving an honorable discharge, he married Suzanne Faloon DeVore in 1958. Suzanne passed away in 1998.
A member of the Bible Baptist Church on Livermore Road, he attended regularly, enjoying and loving Pastor Thomas as well as his church family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years; son, David A. DeVore; three brothers, James, Thomas and 2-year-old Jack; and David's son, Keith.
Ed is survived by his son, Edward DeVore Jr. of Philipsburg; and his grandchild, Kirk Ryan DeVore; his sisters-in-law, Delores DeVore and Anita DeVore. Also his loving friend and companion, Nancy Bowman of Meadville.
He was a carpenter for many years and enjoyed his friends, working, his close family, church and his dogs, Pug and Trapper.
At Ed's request, there will not be any calling hours and the service will be private. Burial will take place at Greendale Cemetery. Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. has been entrusted with the care of arrangements.
