Ms. Applegate was born in Aetna, TN to the late Leonard Jackson and Vestal Delana Lindsey DeVore. She was an LPN for 5 years for Baptist Hospital and also was an LPN with the TN Dept. of Corrections. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Owsley in 2005. She is survived by her sons, Donald Tarkington of Dickson, TN; Randel Owsley of Chula Vista, CA; and Robert Appelgate of Lyles, TN; by her brother, Leonard DeVore of Highland Park, MI; her sister, Doris James of Hohenwald, TN; by 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
