Margie Edith Atterberry, 83, of Lamar, formerly of the Lebanon area, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Green Haven Nursing Home in Springfield.
She was born March 28, 1919, at Lead Hill, Ark., to Alfred Marion Devore and Grace Hankins Devore.
In February 1937, she married Don Atterberry, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Clint, Elmer, John and Willie Devore; three sisters, Ella Mae Rogers, Christina Robinett and Grace Strother.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Francis Atterberry and his wife, Sue, of Springfield; a daughter, Betty Ryan and her husband, Richard, of Lamar; a brother, Burness Devore of Sleeper; a sister, Rayma Rogers of Valparaiso, Ind.; five grandchildren, Candace Turnbull, Kimberly Gibson, Tommy Ryan, Mendy Mann, and Jenifer C. Morris; 12 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Services for Margie Atterberry will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at Colonial Chapel with Chris Robinson officiating.
Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery, under the direction of Thieme-Shadel-Hicks Funeral Service at Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Foundation.
