Alva DeVault
Wilkesville -- Alva L DeVault, 70, a former Wilkesville fire chief, died Monday at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. He had been ill for a year.
Born near Wilkesville, he was a son of the late John and Eva Hartley DeVault. He has lived in the area all of his life and was a retired service station operator. He was a member of the Wilkesville Masonic Lodge F and AM; Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus; Aladdin Temple of Columbus; Taberah Shrine Club, McArthur; the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Wellston and the Wilkes Grange.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs Evelyn Kruskamp DeVault; a daughter, Mrs Ralph (Bonnie) White of Wilkesville, and four grandchildren.
A daughter, a brother and a nephew preceded him in death.
Services will be conducted Thursday at 2 pm at Strong and Son Funeral Home, Wilkesville, by the Rev A B Maloy.
Burial will be at Salem Center Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday and Wednesday at the funeral home.
