Helen Blaizes
Vandergrift
Helen Blaizes, 85, of Vandergrift, died Friday, June 24, 2005, in the West Haven Nursing Home, Washington Township. Born Jan. 24, 1920, in Vandergrift, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Marconi Depalma and had lived in Vandergrift all of her life.
Mrs. Blaizes had worked at the former Stump's Department Store in Vandergrift.
She was a member of St. Gertrude Catholic Church and the Rosary Society and the C.D. of A. of the church.
She enjoyed camping, cooking and gardening, and was especially proud of her home.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 60 years, Peter Blaizes; and her sister, Gertrude Amaranto of Washington Township.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard, Ray and Peter Depalma; and three sisters, Frances Loperfito, Madeline Milanak and Mary Depalma.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Monday until time of a blessing service at 11 a.m. in the DUNMIRE-KERR FUNERAL HOME, Vandergrift. The Rev. Leo Rothrauff will officiate.
Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Vandergrift.
