John Charles DeJarnette Sr, of Blue Springs, MO, died May 25, 2006, at Blue Springs Care Center in Blue Springs, MO.
He was born Feb 24, 1921, in Cooper County, MO, the son of Phelix and Myrtle Williams DeJarnette. On Apr 27, 1943, in South Mills, NC, he was married to Helen Louise Rogers, who preceded him in death on Feb 13, 1997.
Mr DeJarnette was raised and educated in Sedalia. He later joined the United States Coast Guard and served in World War II. He was a member of United Pentecostal Church and the Masonic Lodge of Sedalia. He was a homebuilder.
He is survived by a son, Ronald W DeJarnette of Lee's Summit, MO; six grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife; and a son John DeJarnette, Jr.
Pallbearers were Ron DeJarnette, Jr, Brian Langford, Bill Styles, Cecil DeJarnette, Jason Gasper, and Joel Hydrick. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Self, Dee Carver, and Don "Doc" Curtis. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors by the VFW Post 2591.
