BLACK MOUNTAIN - David Lee Dehart entered into eternal rest May 17, 2010 at Duke University Hospital with his family by his side.
David was the son of William Homer and Cora Ruth DeHart. Mr. DeHart worked as a health Care technician at Julian F. Keith Rehabilitation Center in Black Mountain until his retirement. David and his son were avid movie goers, sometimes seeing two movies in one evening. He loved to read comics with his grandson and watch cartoons with his granddaughter. His love of music was profound. Elvis and Motown were his favorites. David loved his family and friends deeply. Everyone that came into contact with him became an instant friend and will tell you that he made them laugh with one of his many jokes. David's favorite vacation of all was the road trip he and Matthew took together.
David is survived by his sons Matthew DeHart and his wife Betty and Elliot Fowler; sister, Joann Bailey; brothers, Billy DeHart and wife Carolyn and Charles DeHart; grandchildren, Noah, Coralee and Mara along with his ex-wife Judith DeHart.
A Celebration of Life Service will be May 26th at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Brigman's Funeral Service in Black Mountain. The Rev. Randy Stone and the Rev. Frank Cantrell will conduct the service.
The family would like to thank everyone for their support during this trying time. For those who would like to leave words of comfort to the family may do so under Mr. DeHart's obituary @ www.brigmans.com.
