West Virginia, USA
|Death: ||Oct. 1, 1929|
Death Certificate No. 33428 states that she was accidentally struck and crushed by a Frisco Passenger Train No. 2 and buried at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Sullivan, Mo. She was the daughter of Benjamin DeBolt and Dorcas Wood who were both born in West Virginia. (death certificate# 33428)
(Note: Contrary to Elizabeth's death certificate, Benjamin and Darcus were actually both born in Pennsylvania.)
Elizabeth DeBolt Harrison Delcour was 7th of 10 children born to Benjamin DeBolt and Darcus Wood in Wood County, West Virginia. When her mother died in 1855, her father Benjamin parceled out all the younger children to relatives and neighbors. Elizabeth was raised by neighbors, the Wilkerson family. In the 1860's, they moved from West Virginia to Ohio and then on to Missouri.
Elizabeth married Hugh Frazier Harrison in 1868 in Crawford County, Missouri. With him she had 5 children. Hugh died in 1883.
In 1892, Elizabeth married William M. Fisher in Butler County, Missouri. That marriage was annulled in 1897 in Clay County, Missouri due to abandonment.
In 1900, Elizabeth married Solomon Wood in Crawford County, Missouri. That marriage ended in divorce in 1905 in Crawford County, Missouri.
Next Elizabeth married Hugh A. Harrison in 1905 in Phelps County, Missouri. It is unclear how this married ended.
Last, Elizabeth married Edward Edmond Delcour in Crawford County, Missouri in 1914. Edward died in 1923, however Elizabeth was living by herself in Franklin County, Missouri by the time of the 1920 Census.
In 1929 she was struck and killed by a train. Apparently she was returning home from the store with groceries and tried to beat the train across the tracks.
