John Marion DeBolt was the oldest son of Isaac DeBolt and Elizabeth Poundstone. He had three younger brothers who also served in the Union Army: Abraham, Isaac & George DeBolt. All 3 of them served in Co. C. of the 11th Indiana Vol. Cavalry.
