Audrey Jean DeArmond, 82, of Winamac, IN passed away at 10:05 AM Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Hickory Creek in Winamac. She was born on September 4, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Edward and Gertrude Novak Campbell. Audrey married James DeArmond on January 9, 1954. He survives.

Audrey grew up on the south side of Chicago and graduated from Hammond High School. She was a longtime US Postal Service employee and a retired Postmaster from St. John, IN.

Audrey and Jim were longtime residents of Crown Point, IN and moved to Winamac in 1997. They enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed touring Africa.

Audrey was an avid swimmer and a former swim instructor. She loved the outdoors, especially riding horses, camping, and fishing. Audrey was well known for her excellent cooking.

Audrey loved her family very much. She will be dearly missed.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM EST Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac.

Burial will take place at 2 PM EST Monday, November 17, 2014 in Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.

Visitation will be from 4-8 PM EST Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Frain Mortuary.

Memorial Contributions may be given to Humane Society or the Pulaski Animal Control.
