Son of Merritt and Emily J Dayton per internment records.
The many friends of Charley Dayton of Aladdin were grieved to learn of his sudden death March 7, 1914, following a brief illness from pneumonia. The funeral was held Sunday last and the remains were shipped to Belle Plain, Iowa, for interment. Mr. Dayton had been conductor on the Wyo. & Missouri River Railroad for many years and was one of the most efficient railway men of his time. He was an excellent citizen and his good council and companionship will be greatly missed by all who have been associated with him in business and social circles.
Mr. Dayton was an honored member of the Masonic lodge at the time of his death.
