Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker and a resident of Brookhaven, MS. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Brookhaven.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton I. Carpenter; her son, Dr. Don Carpenter; her parents, Clyde E. Day and Jessie Turnbough Day; two brothers, Charles and J. B. Day; and two sisters, Helen Day Smith and Evelyn Day Brabham.
She was survived by two nieces, Deborah Penton Richardson and Sally Day Nunnley; and six nephews, Mack Brabham, Joe Brabham, David Penton, Ric Day, Billy Smith and Jack Brabham.
