Learned the trade of mason like his Father

1674 joined Ancient and Honorable Artillery Co where he became a Lt.

1675 signed a petition for protection against the Indians, when war broke out with King Philip, Ambrose joined the Colonial troops and served the winter of 1675.

Sixty years later his son Thomas was given land for his Father's service in this war.

1692 Abrose rec's an eye wound at Fort Pemaquid, Maine, sent home and given 10 pounds for being injured.

Ambrose lived next door to his father William Dawes on Sudbury St.-
