Claire Zipplies Davison, of Atlanta, GA, died March 22, 2006. A great lover of literature and the arts, she exemplified Southern graciousness, beauty, and charm. Born in Savannah, GA, she was the fourth daughter of Paul and Bertha Zipplies. After graduating from Duke University, she married Dr. Alexis H. Davison of Atlanta. During Dr. Davison's foreign service with the U.S. Air Force, she had five children in three different countries. A member of St. Philips Cathedral and the Planters Garden Club, she served on the Board of The Atlanta Ballet, and participated for over 40 years in the Third Sunday Discussion Group. Her passion for current events and children's welfare inspired her volunteer activities at The Carter Center and her service on the Citizens Panel Review of Fulton County Juvenile Court. She is survived by her sister, Anne and Stanley Saunders; children, Peter and Connie Davison, Catherine and Frank Jarrell, Natasha Davison and John Lilley, Elizabeth and Jamal Benomar, Mary and Fred Frantz; and grandchildren, Alex Davison, Christopher Jarrell, Emma, Jarrell, Claire Lilley, Alexis Lilley, Joseph Benomar, Adam Benomar, Alexandra Benomar, Sarah Benomar, Bill Frantz, Henry Frantz and Annabelle Frantz; as well as nieces, nephews, and numerous close family friends. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 27, 2006 at St. Philips Cathedral, Atlanta. Interment will be in Arlington Memorial Park.
