Coral Virginia Taylor, 85, of Orem, Utah, died March 7, 2011, in Orem, Utah, surrounded by family and friends. Virginia, as she was known to her friends, was born April 14, 1925, in American Fork, Utah, the daughter of Hiram and Coral Davis.
She married William L. Taylor, who survives, on November 26, 1945, and was sealed to him in the Salt Lake Temple on November 30, 1945. She graduated from BYU in 1971 with a BS in Elementary Education and taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade school in Orem for 20 years. During this time, she had many students that she influenced for a lifetime of good.
She served a mission for the LDS Church in the New Zealand Christchurch Mission from 1977 to 1979, and was instrumental in the teaching and baptism of many people. She was known to family and friends for her great sense of humor, and a beautiful singing voice. It was through music that she often communicated and expressed her great love of her family and of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
She is survived by son, Mike Taylor of Orem, Utah; daughter Susan (Steven) Sorenson of Orem, Utah; son Chuck Taylor of Lake Forest, California; son Jack (Thalia) Taylor of American Fork, Utah; brother Larry (Diann) Davis of Hooper, Utah; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel 80 S. 280 E., Orem. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary 49 E. 100 N., American Fork and Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial in American Fork Cemetery.
