Obituary Burlington Co Times March 28, 2002:
Natalie A. Davis, age 83, of Willingboro, passed away at her home on Tues March 26 due to medical complications. Mrs. Davis was a socialite and leader in numerous civic and humanitarian organizations. She devoted much of her life to teaching and training young people.
Mrs. Davis, a long time resident of Willingboro, NJ was born in Mobile, AL. She was a graduate of Alabama State College. Her graduate work included the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and Atlanta University where she received the Master of Art Degree. Postgraduate work was done at Columbia University. Further studies were done at Trenton State College. Mrs. Davis served as chairperson of the English Dept, Central GH, Mobile AL, Senior Class Sponsor, Sponsor of the National Honor Society and Guidance Counselor. She was a teacher in the Dependents Overseas School, Tripoli, Libya after three years where she assisted in establishing a non graded curiculum. Her last teaching assignment before her retirement was at the Robert Stacy Elementary School in Burlington, NJ where she taught fourth grade. Mrs. Davis held membership in numerous professional, civic and social organizations where she volunteered her time and talents. Among them: the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the Epsilon Upsilon Omega Chapter, Rancocas Chapter of Links, Inc, the Nu-Trens Club, Inc., Trenton, NJ,Friends of Merabash Museum, New Egypt, NJ, the Willingboro Chapter of Deborah, Browns Mills, NJ, Ki Wives of WIllingboro, National Association of College Women and Voter Registration. Ward No 34, Willingboro, NJ. Mrs. Davis was a dedicated member of the Wesley AME Zion Church of Burlington for many years where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Director of Christian Education, Daily Vacation Bible School and member of various auxliaries.
Natalie A. Davis leaves to cherish her memory, two nephews, George E. Lott of Phila, PA and Retired Army Lt Alfred D.(Carolyn) Lott of MD, two nieces, Natalie Young of Atlanta, GA and Marilyn Smith of Mobile, AL; one step granddaughter, three grandnephews, seven grandnieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sat March 30, 2002 at 11am at the Christ Temple AME Zion Church, JFK Way, Willingboro, NJ. Family and friends may call from 9am until time of service. Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Burlington, NJ. Arrangements under the direction of the WR Woody Funeral Home, Burlington.
