Irma S. Davis, aged 63, of Upper Deerfield Township, died unexpectedly at her home on Monday, April 6, 2009.
The wife of Leonard C. Davis, she was born in Bridgeton on Jan. 3, 1946, to the late Charles Stites and Jennie Pettit Stites. She had been an Upper Deerfield Township resident for the past five years and had lived in Colorado and Klosterneuberg, Austria, prior to that.
Before her retirement in June of 2008, Mrs. Davis was employed as guest relations coordinator with WorldVenture Mission, in Littleton, Colo. In 1988, she and her husband, Leonard, were serving in the mission field in Southern Austria and in 1991 were appointed by World Venture to serve as the Eastern European regional coordinators, in Vienna, Austria. In 1999, they were invited to join the home office staff in Colorado, where Irma continued her work with WorldVenture. She deeply loved her family and loved people. She enjoyed making others feel welcome and greatly enjoyed life.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Brian K. Davis and his wife, Penny, of Canton; a daughter, Pamela D. Lockwood and her husband, Russell, of Pilesgrove; a brother, Keith S. Stites and his wife, Harue, of Gardena, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Stites, of Pittsgrove; and two grandsons, Stephen and Jonathan Davis. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Rick Stites.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 13, at 11 a.m., at the Canton Baptist Church, 700 Smick Road, Canton.
Burial will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery, in Upper Deerfield Township.
Friends will be received on Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, and on Monday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
