Margaret was born in Robeson County on September 29, 1929 to Ernest Plimmer (E.P.) and Eva Warwick Davis. Her early childhood years were spent in Lumberton where her Aunt Alice Prevatt still resides.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Carroll Bland, Sr. and her brother, Edward Davis of Jacksonville, Florida.
She is survived by her children, Debra Bland, Herbert Carroll Bland, Jr., and his partner Paula of Wilmington and Margaret Catherine Bland Wallace (Cathy) and her husband Richard of Wake Forest. Her grandchildren are Herbert Carroll Bland, III (Trey) of Charlotte; Margaret Louise Jenkins Fagg (Meg) and her husband Sam of Santa Cruz, California and Carroll Elizabeth Jenkins (Liz) of Cary. Margaret just celebrated the birth of her first great grandchild, William Samuel Fagg, V (Samson).
Margaret is also survived by her brother, Will Davis and his wife Debbie of Charlotte. And her sister-in-law, Helen Englert of Jacksonville, Florida.
Miss Margaret loved Jesus, children, school, dogs and the color red. As a child, she held perfect attendance for all 12 years. She became a teacher and taught for 30 years in Brunswick County at Leland and Lincoln schools. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and an active member of Wrightsville Beach Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Family will greet friends on Sunday from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market Street. A service celebrating her life will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at Wrightsville Beach Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Hawkins officiating. Interment immediately after the ceremony at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Feel free to wear a touch of red, Margaret's favorite color.
