Glenn Myron Davis, 85, died at 9 AM Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. The son of the late Charles and Emma (McHaffey) Davis, he was born July 8, 1919, in Warren County. He graduated from Pine Village High School in 1937, from Central Normal College in 1943, and he did graduate work at Purdue University for two years. His marriage was to Norma Frances Gilmore on Sept. 27, 1941, in Danville, IN; she survives.

Mr. Davis was a grade school teacher in Green Hill, and at Klondike and Morton schools in West Lafayette. The majority of his teaching was at Durgan Elementary School in Lafayette. He taught for 41 years, retiring in 1984. He also worked part-time in the print department at Sears Roebuck for 50 years, and he served in the National Guard. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Retired Teachers Association, the Sears Retirement Association, and was a member of the Challengers Class at Trinity. He enjoyed watching Purdue sports, and watching his grandchildren's activities.

Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Judith "Judy" Stewart (husband Lynn) of West Lafayette and Sandy Panagiotis (husband Mike) of Schererville; six grandchildren, Christopher Stewart, Jennifer Clark, Susannah DeVault, Amanda Thieme, Alyssa McKenna, and Kristin Harden; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Chet and Wayne Davis; and a sister, Lillian Arnold. Service Sept. 3, Hippensteel Funeral Home, Pastor Jacob Williams officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
