Dade City, February 1st - Joe passed away yesterday at Jackson Memorial Hospital after an illness of two weeks. He was born in Mississippi, lived a short time in Louisiana, but spent the greater part of his life here. He served as deputy sheriff under a former sheriff for four years and formerly was city marshal. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nancy (Van Meter) Davis; three sisters, Mrs. R. C. Bankston and Mrs. W. N. Ferguson of Tampa, Mrs. George O. Wright of Birmingham, Alabama; and one brother, Rev. E. Y. Davis of Lodema, California.
