Obit from Messenger of Truth Issue 4, 2014:

Della Marie Nichols was born to Robert and Elsie Davis on November 13, 1940, at Burns, Kansas. She quietly passed away on January 19, 2014, at the Hy-Lond Health Care Center in Merced, California.
Our mother moved with her family to Winton, California, at the age of five. She received her education in the Winton area, attending the Arena Grammar and Winton elementary schools, and graduated from Livingston High School. On March 30, 1952, she was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, by Min. Dave Dyck, and she remained faithful to her vows until her death.
On August 7, 1960, our mother was married to Earl Schmidt. They were married for only eleven months when Earl passed away due to complications of diabetes. As a widow, Mom sought employment working at Air Control, a window factory, and Poochenelli, the Onion Dehydrator in Winton. Ten years later Mom was married to our father, Paul Nichols, on January 16, 1971. During their forty-three years of marriage, they were blessed with three sons and nine grandchildren.
Mother loved all children, especially her grandchildren, and was very concerned about their spiritual well-being. Her heart of love reached beyond her own biological grandchildren, taking in her stepgrandchildren as her very own. She felt very blessed to be in Ronan, Montana, when her oldest grandchild found the Lord and was baptized. Her love for children and their spirituality reached beyond her own to encouraging other young converts. Their home was always open to their nieces and nephews, who they took in and nurtured as they had opportunity. Another highlight in Mom's life was when they had the privilege of keeping the revival ministers one year, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
After we boys were in school, she found an opportunity to help in the public school cafeteria, where she enjoyed serving the children for seventeen years. She especially enjoyed when the younger grades came in to eat. Oftentimes after work Grandma would stop by with cookies or call to see if they could keep the grandchildren for awhile.
Mom enjoyed taking a drive just to enjoy the beauty of nature, either the mountains or the ocean. She also enjoyed reading, inspiring Dad to do the same.
Those left to cherish fond memories are her husband, Paul; three sons: Paul and wife, Jenny, Atwater, California; Aaron and wife, Christine, Scio, Oregon; Jason and wife, Deborah, Cotton City, New Mexico; one brother, Don Davis, Sagle, Idaho; two sisters-in-law: Myrna Nichols, Turlock, California; and Janice Davis, Winton, California; one brother-in-law, John Steiner, Buhl, Idaho; nine grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding her in death were her first husband, one brother, and two sisters.
Funeral services were held on January 23, 2014, at the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Winton, California. Ministers Russell Spence and Greg Dyck officiated. Burial was in the Winton District Cemetery with Min. Brian Dyck in charge.
