Melba Atkins, 92 went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 30, 2009. Born on June 23, 1917 in Baton Rouge, LA to the late James Davis and Leona Campbell Davis. She was an active member of Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God where she enjoyed singing in the choir and being around her church family. Cooking, gardening, going to church and spending time with her family were the things that she cherished the most. She is preceded in Death by her husband, Joseph Atkins; sons, Bobby Joe Atkins, Jerry David Atkins, and Dalton Henry Atkins; daughter, Brenda Atkins Harvard; sister, Agnes Young; and brother, Bud Davis. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Ann Jones and Leona Joy Norton; sisters, Joy Belle Davis and Katherine Davis Oliver; 12 grand children, and 20 great grandchildren.
