She married Oklahoma-native Bryce Edwin Davis on September 28, 1911 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Her husband fought valiantly in World War I before being dying in France on October 7, 1918. He is buried in the Meuse-Argonne Cemetery in Romagne, France.
Just days after her husband's death, Amelia - who was pregnant at the time- came down with the Spanish Influenza that was going around on an pandemic scale.
Soon after getting ill, Amelia also developed pneumonia. She gave birth to a stillborn son on October 17, then passed away the next day at her home a little over a week after coming down with the disease. She was twenty-four years old.
