Edith Faye Cretsinger, 81, died on July 23, 2011 in Perkins, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Perkins, Oklahoma with Jeff McReynolds officiating. Interment will be at Olivet Cemetery in Perkins, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on January 17, 1930 on the family farm near Goodnight, Oklahoma to Edwin and Bernice Davis. She graduated from Perkins High School in 1949 and worked as a laundry attendant at Oklahoma State University Married Student Housing for over 20 years. She was the President of the Perkins Senior Citizens and a member of the Olivet Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Scott, sister Ella Marie and brothers Jetty and Raymond.
She is survived by her son Gary Childers and wife Debra of Cross Plains, Texas, daughter Ida Cretsinger of Stillwater, Oklahoma and daughter Cheryl Gilbert and husband Jack of Lamont, Oklahoma, brother Walter Davis of Pawnee, Oklahoma, brother Jim Davis of Stillwater, Oklahoma, sister Lydia Kirkendall and husband David of Aline, Oklahoma, sister Patricia Davis of Perkins, Oklahoma, sister Bertha Pricer of Perkins, Oklahoma, and 8 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
