Adley Davis, Pioneer, Dies In Ponca City.
A.C. Davis, 68, better known as Adley Davis, who resided here for a number of years before the opening of the Cherokee Strip, died last night at his home in Ponca City. The widow and several grown children survive. Mr. Davis was one of the early settlers in Arkansas City and will be remembered by many of the present day citizens.
He secured a claim near Ponca City at the time of the opening of the strip, and had since resided there.
Funeral services are to bed held at one o'clock Thursday afternoon at the residence in Ponca City. Rev. Frouhock, pastor of the Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Parker cemetery, east of Arkansas City. The funeral party will arrive at the cemetery about three o'clock that afternoon.
