MRS. BARR, 80, TAKEN BY DEATH
Funeral Rites To Be Conducted Saturday For Local Woman.
Mrs. Radie Jane Barr, of Route 4 in Lowell addition, died at 4:45 o'clock Thursday morning at the county hospital. She was 80 years old and the widow of Jasper Newton Barr. She had been in failing health for several years, but in the hospital only a week.
Survivors include three sons, Ovie A. Barr, Herod C. Barr and Harry S. Barry, all of Columbus; three daughters, Mrs. James King and Mrs. Delbert King, both of Columbus, and Mrs. Court Artis of Clifford; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Flanigan and Reed funeral home, by the Rev. James Myers, pastor of East Columbus Church of Christ. Burial will be made at Garland Brook cemetery.
Born March 10, 1876, in Jackson county, she was the daughter of the late John and Hannah Brooks Davis, and lived her early life there. Later she moved to Bartholomew county and has spent the last two years in Columbus. Mrs. Barr was a member of the Christian church at Reddington.
The casket is open at the funeral home until time of services.
