Funeral services for Mrs. Turner Bell, one of Morgan County's best known ladies, are set for Friday morning, October 28th, at 11 o'clock at Buckhead Baptist Church. Mrs. Bell died Wednesday morning, October 26, 1994, at Family Life Enrichment Center, High Shoals where she has been a patient.

The former Dorothy Davis, Mrs. Bell, 84, was born in Seattle, Washington. She moved with her parents, the late Charles McClain Davis, and the late Laura Belle Coward Davis, to Morgan County 79 years ago. She was the granddaughter of Dave & Lou (Norton) Coward.

She was married to prominent Buckhead landowner and business leader, Turner Lee Bell, who died several years ago [1959]. She taught school for many years at Buckhead and later worked with the FERA [Federal Emergency Relief Association] Agency of the United States government. She was an active member of Buckhead Baptist Church. A learned lady who loved to read, Mrs. Bell was a delightful companion and friend.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Turner Bell and Curtis Joe Bell, both of Buckhead; three daughters, Barbara Tyson, Buckhead, Miriam Foster, Spokane, Washington, and Laura Elaine Lohr, Buckhead; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The Reverend David Lemons will officiate at the service. Interment will be at Buckhead Cemetery.

The family will be at Mrs. Bell's residence and will also receive friends at Pritchett Chapel on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Buckhead Baptist Church.

Pritchett Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
