Necia Lorene "Rene" Coleman went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2008, at her residence on Lake Sam Rayburn in Broaddus, Texas. She was born in Houston, Texas, to the late Aggie and Louis Etsel "Dude" Davis. She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Robert "Bob" Coleman, Sr., a retired Senior Captain with the Houston Fire Department; son, Robert Coleman, Jr. (Denise); daughters, Barbara Coleman Jumper and Linda Coleman Howard (Tom); grandsons, Thomas Howard III, Clayton Howard, Scott Coleman (Michelle) and Daniel Lofland Coleman; and great-grandson, Lane Tyler.
An accomplished artist and art teacher, Rene's works garnered awards in Houston and East Texas. She cherished her family time, whether fishing or riding a jetski, and loved nothing better than enjoying quiet sunsets over the lake with her husband, Robert. First Baptist Church Broaddus has dedicated their library to Rene in appreciation for her countless volunteer hours, murals, and paintings she donated. The family gratefully acknowledges Pastor Dr. Wayne Barth, all beloved members of First Baptist Church Broaddus and dear friend, Dina Moore.
