Virginia Murriel Copeland of the 700 block of Bundaberg Lane went with the angels Feb. 17, 2008. Virginia was born Sept. 1, 1943, in Rocky Mount, N.C., to Connie and Wade Davis. A 1961 graduate of Rocky Mount Senior High School, she married her high school sweetheart March 7, 1965. Virginia took great pride in the positive influence she had on so many young lives during her 18 years with the Winston Salem/Forsyth County school system. An active community volunteer and an avid gardener, Virginia was truly loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Thoughtful, sensitive and full of life, she was an inspiration to all whose lives she touched. A loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and teacher, Virginia is survived by her husband of almost 43 years Harold Edward Copeland; daughter and son-in-law, Bunnie and Douglas Talbot Jr. of Virginia Beach; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Jennifer Copeland of South Riding, Va.; daughter, Gina Copeland and fiance Justin Daugherty of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her mother, Connie Davis of Rocky Mount, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law Robert "Buddy" and Kathy Davis and two nieces of Greensboro, N.C. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Trinity- United Methodist Church in King, N.C., with the Rev. David Childers and Dr. Barry Nelson conducting the services with interment to follow in Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff of Piedmont Hematology Oncology Associates, the 9th floor of Forsyth Memorial Hospital and the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their sincere compassion and support through this difficult time. "May the wonder of heaven fill your heart with the same amount of love you shared with others. God bless and you will forever be with us."
