Merle H. DAVIS Passed away peacefully on June 16th, 2007. He was born on Sept. 13th, 1925 in Vancouver, Washington to Ernest and Olga Davis. Preceded in death in 1998 by Cecelia, his wife of 52 years. Merle is survived by his five children, Thomas of Cheney, Patrick of Kenmore, Mary Ann of Edmonds, Elizabeth (Betsy) of Everett, John of Snohomish, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Merle graduated from LaCenter High School in 1943 and enlisted in the Navy. After a series of jobs he found his niche and became a District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America. He served in Seattle, Eugene, OR and Yakima. In 1962, he left Scouting to enter an exciting new industry, cable TV. Recognized as a pioneer, Merle built cable systems all over Washington State. He then went north to bring cable TV to much of rural Alaska. Retired in 1980, Merle traveled, became a pilot, rode motorcycles through Europe and was an avid computer hobbyist. He will be remembered by many for the opportunities and encouragement he gave others to be successful in their own lives. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26th at the Acacia Funeral Home, 14951 Bothell Way, Shoreline. Donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or to a charity of your choice.
