Patricia Davis Coffee slipped peacefully into the hands of God surrounded by her family Wednesday, March 3, 2010.
A service celebrating this remarkable woman will be held at 2pm Saturday, March 13, in the chapel at Freedom Life Church, 2435 Hebron Parkway, Carrollton, Texas officiated by Dr. Vic Casad of Christ United Methodist Church.
Patricia will be laid to rest with her husband, Colonal Harold B. Coffee, on Friday, March 19, in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
Born Patricia Jeanne Davis to Esther Parker and Ralph Davis on Dec. 3, 1923, in Washington, D.C., Pat was raised by her mother and adopted father, Marc Randall Fore, in Washington, D.C., where she attended Western High School. She attended George Washington University and was a member of Pi Beta Phi social sorority.
Pat married her high school sweetheart, Harold B. Coffee, when he returned from World War II after serving as a first lieutenant in the Army Air Corps. Harold became a career Air Force pilot and officer, and they spent the next 30 years living in 11 states, 16 U.S. cities and Ottawa, Canada.
Patricia was a dedicated Air Force wife, a loving mother and grandmother, an accomplished painter, seamstress and miniaturist. She was a positive, optimistic, humorous, sweet, creative and fun woman who enjoyed many deep friendships and endless leadership roles. She exuded a strong faith and deep spiritual understanding. She cherished her family, and was the queen matriarch to "Camp Coffee." Her grandchildren affectionately called her "Gigi."
"She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs at no fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and kindness is the rule when she gives instructions ... Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her. There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all ... a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised." --Proverbs 31
The Coffee family wishes to acknowledge her loving caregivers: Elizabeth Serralde, Rosa Franco, Keyla Franco and Mayra Franco, who provided Patsy with infinite care, compassion, love and friendship. We also give our sincere thanks and love to The Hospice Center of Richardson for their unbelievable support.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
