Obituary of Mrs. John B. Evans
Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Evans was born June 21, 1860 in Wales, and dies at her home in Bevier Wednesday July 1, 1936 at 1:20 O'clock at the age of 76 years and 9 days.
She was married to John B. Evans fifty one years ago. To this union ten children were born.
Three children preceded her in death. Her oldest son, Thomas John passed away five years ago at Whiting, Indiana. Two children passed away in infancy.
She and her husband came to America in June 1887, and they have made their home in Bevier for forty nine years.
Mrs. Evans united with the Welch Weslyn church in her youth and has kept her faith in it ever since.
She has lived a good life, and was loved and respected by all who knew her.
She leaves to mourn her loss, four daughters, Mary L. and Maria of Bevier, Margaret of Kirksville, Mrs. R. L. Holman of Emmett, Kas., and three sons. David of Des Moines, la. Edward and Elmer of Macon.
One sister, Mrs. Margaret West of Kansas City, three brothers, Thos. R. Davis, Ross Davis and Morgan R Davis of Des Moines, la. Also nine grandchildren, one great- grandson, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Edwards Funeral Home, Friday afternoon, July 3 at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Elder Ben S. Tanner. Interment was made al East Oakwood in Bevier.
