Mrs. David (Effie Jane Shoun) Davis, 38, of Jacksboro, died Thursday, Feb. 19 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Knoxville.

A registered nurse, she was a graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Nursing and worked in several capacities, including public health nurse with the Campbell County Health Department for seven years, the Black Lung Health Clinic, and as an instructor at Tennessee Area Vocational-Technical School.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of LaFollette, and was active in the church choir. She also was a member of the Christian Women's Club and was dedicated to her church, profession, family and friends.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, David L. Davis of Jacksboro; daughter, Lori; son, Jason, both of Jacksboro; parents, Mr. & Mrs. Earl P. Shoun of Jellico; two brothers, Wilbur and Steve Shoun of Maryville; sister, Mrs. Lynn (Jeaulena) Teague of Atlanta, Ga.; grandmother, Mrs. Effie Shoun of LaFollette; father and mother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Wren Davis of LaFollette; five nieces and three nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Harlan Reynolds and the Rev. Russell Bridges officiating. Private interment was Sunday at Campbell County Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements were by Walters Funeral Home, LaFollette.
