Emma Davidson married C.C. Mayes on 26 April 1891 at Archer City, Archer County, Texas. She preceded him in death at their home, two miles northwest of Graham, Texas. She died from complications involved with childbirth.

Survived by her husband; eight children; her parents; several brothers and sisters and other relatives. She was a niece of John E Morrison.

Mrs. Mayes was married 22 years ago. She and her husband had lived in and near Graham during the married years.

Survived held at the family home officiated by Rev. Hall. He spoke of her having united with the Presbyterian Church at the age of 16 years in his sermon notes. Rev. Hall mentioned she lived a consistent life as a church member. She expressed herself as ready to go home to be with Jesus. He spoke of her devotion to her home and family. Rev. Hall's message mentioned her faithfulness in attendance and her dedication to church duties even under great difficulties. Rev. Hall closed his message speaking about Mrs. Mayes' 42 years on this earth full of thought of others and forgetfulness of self.

One son - Norris Edward Mayes born 23 December 1910 at Graham, Texas was killed in World War II on 21 December 1944 at Germany.
