SALEM - Delores Janette Davey, 76, of Salem, passed away on July 4, 2007. She was born in Duluth, Minn. on November 18, 1930.
Delores moved to Longview, Wash. when she was eleven years old. She graduated from RA Long High School in 1947. She married Stanley Davey on September 23, 1950. The couple settled in Salem, Ore. in 1957.
In 1957, Delores started employment at Pacific Telephone and Telegraph, which later became AT&T. She worked her way up in the company and retired in February of 1986 as Business Office Supervisor for Salem. Later that year she co-founded Shared Communications Services. Shared Communication Services won many awards including Oregon's Fastest Growing Small Business, and Delores herself won Oregon's Business Woman of the Year in 1992. After 13 extremely successful years, she and her partners sold their company, and Delores retired.
Delores' husband preceded her in death on April 6, 1993. She is survived by her daughters Gwen Davey of Fresno, Calif.; Kathleen Green and her husband Roger Green of Minneapolis, Minn.; their two daughters, Cassandra and Meghan Green of Beaverton, Ore.; her brother, Jerry Yamo of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; and sister, Janice Coplen of Mesa, Ariz.
Delores will be laid to rest at Belcrest Memorial Park next to her husband. Services will be held on July 14, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Howell-Edwards Doerksen. Contributions may go to Willamette Valley Hospice and Salem Gospel Mission. Arrangements are by Howell-Edwards Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors.
