Lessie was the daughter of Henry Washington "Bud" Daughtrey and Sarah Floyd (Williams) Daughtrey. She was the grandaughter of John Daughtrey and Rebecca Ellen (Williams) Daughtrey on her paternal side and the grandaughter of Nathan Knight Williams and Celia(Durrance)Williams on her maternal side. Her ancestors could be traced back as early as 1840 in the state of Florida.
Lessie and her husband George spent most of their married life in Naples, except for a brief period right after they first married, living near Marco and areas around South Florida, wherever George found carpentry work at the time. George was born and grew up on Marco Island and he was a fisherman and carpenter by trade. They were the parents of 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys.
Lessie passed away in Cleveland, Ohio from injuries sustained in an auto crash while visiting relatives in the area. She was a good Christian woman who was kind to everyone she ever met. She was very much loved by her children and grandchildren and was affectionatly known as "Granny."
