Tanna Bolin, 53, Nixa, passed from this life on Sunday, August 17, at 6 a.m. in her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with lymphoma and ovarian cancer. Tanna was born on February 4, 1950 in Springfield, Ohio. On July 4, 1968 she was united in marriage to Eugene Bolin. To this union one daughter and one son were born. Tanna was a longtime employee of the U.S. Government for the past 29 years. Tanna held positions with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, United States Parole Commission, Internal Revenue Service, and currently with the U.S. Attorney in Springfield, Mo. Tanna had a heart for helping others; she served as a volunteer at Cox and the Ozarks MS Society. Tanna enjoyed children and taught Sunday school and children's choir for many years. Tanna became a Christian as a teenager and was currently a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charles H. and Bertha Daughtrey. Tanna is survived by her husband of 35 years, Eugene; daughter, Rebekah and her husband, Jeff Rhein, of Springfield; son, Justin Bolin and his wife, Melanie, of Republic; one grandson, Alexander Justin Bolin, Republic; two brothers, Mark Daughtrey and his wife, Sue, of Nixa, and Mike Daughtrey and his wife, Donna, of Hornlake, Mississippi; father and mother-in-law, Claude and Maxine Bolin, Highlandville; sister-in-law, Marsha and her husband, Darrell Downing, of Highlandville; brother-in-law, Larry Bolin and his wife, Debbie, of Springfield; and a host of other family and friends. A special young lady whom she loved as a daughter, Rose Green, her husband, Jay, and children, Austin, Lauren, and Dylan, also survive Tanna. The familly gives a special thanks to all of the family and friends who offered support through prayer, visits, and phone calls. Special thanks also to Dr. Robert Ellis for the compassionate care he provided Tanna. Tanna will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorial contributions can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Ozarks Branch. Funeral services will be held in Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Springfield, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, with the Rev. Brent Davis officiating. Burial will follow the service in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens, Springfield. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, August 19, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.

God bless your family. My dad died of cancer. I hope someday we will see a cure for this horrible disease. I miss him so much, but I know he is in Heaven, and so is your mom.
