Jane Seim Dascher, age 87, entered into eternal rest March 7, 2008. A lifelong Albany and seasonal Thompson's Lake resident, Jane was the daughter of John H. Seim and Helena Langhor Seim. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert H. Seim. In 1942, Jane married her high school sweetheart, Fred L. Dascher Jr., a prominent Albany funeral director until his death in 1997. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Headley-Walker of Bonita Springs, Fla. and Sharen (Steven) Dombrowski of Albany. Jane delighted in her grandchildren, Brett Andrew (Sue) Walker of Marshfield, Mass., Lori Ayn Walker of Columbus, Ohio, Todd F. Dombrowski, MD (fiance Thais Triehy) of Albany and Ashlee Jane (John) Wood of Clifton Park and three great-grandchildren, Ethan Frederick and Eliza Belle Walker, and Katelyn Ann Wood. She is also survived by her much loved nephews, Frederick L. (Vivian) Jones of Westmere, H. Wayne (Ellen) Jones of Slingerlands, and niece Diane (Thom) Kingston of Albany along with 10 great-nieces, nephews and their families. In her later years, she enjoyed the many friendships made living in the Avila Community. Jane blessed all her friends and family with her animated personality, laughter and sense of humor, which will always be cherished and remembered. Her family thanks the staff of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home, the St. Peter's Hospice Inn and the Community Hospice for their care, concern and devotion. Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 75 Whitehall Rd., Albany. The Revs.Jonathan Gray and David Nuss will preside. Burial will follow in Albany Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 48 p.m. in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany. Memorials may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 so that others may benefit from their angelic care.
