Lynn A. Burge, 74, died of a heart attack Saturday morning, July 18, in her home at 316 E. 2nd St.
Mrs. Burge was a semi-invalid as a result of a stroke more than 25 years ago and had been confined to a wheelchair for the past six years.
She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 15, 1896, and came to Phoenix with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Dart, at the age of 15. They arrived here the day Arizona became a state, February 12, 1912. The family later moved to Douglas, where Dr. Dart lost his life while aiding the wounded miners in a series of mine explosions in that area.
On November 28, 1928 she married William H. Burge. They came to Casa Grande to make their home among friends she had met during visits here with her mother. Mr. Burge preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1963.
Gifted with a talent for music, Mrs. Surge's avocation was playing the piano and singing, prior to her paralytic affliction. Her voice was heard over radio station KOY, on the Roberta Bragdon program.
Mrs. Burge is survived by cousins and other relatives out of state. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. Services will be conducted by the Seventh Day Adventist Church at the Cole and Maud Chapel. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
