Cheryl L. Bell Darst, 60, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, March 29, 2009, in an Odessa hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Calvary Callender, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

She was born on June 8, 1948, in Big Spring, Texas and married Billy Worth Darst on November 19, 1978 in Denison, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2000.

Cheryl grew up in Big Spring, graduated from Big Spring High School and had attended Texas Tech University. She had lived in Dallas for 30 years until returning to Big Spring several years ago. She worked as an office manager in the healthcare field and had worked at the VA Medical Center for the past nine months. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Tiffany Ashley of Dallas and Jeremy and Angela Darst of London, Kentucky; her mother, Violet Bell of Big Spring; a sister, Sharon Krail of New Orleans, Louisiana; and six grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her father, Clarence Bell.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3001 N. Big Spring, Midland, Texas 79705.
