The Appeal Democrat Newspaper 3/09/1905 is Frances's obituary which reads:
"MRS. DARNEILLE DIES Pioneer Woman Suddenly Called Beyond When Apparently in Good Health. Again has a pioneer of this State and an old resident of this section been called by the grim reaper in the person of Mrs. Frances Ellen Darneille who passed away yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock in her room at the Dawson House. At the time of her death she was 75 years of age and her passing will be learned with much regret by her many friends in Marysville and nearby towns. In 1856, the deceased came to California, and since that time she resided in the Northern part of the State. For twenty years she made her home at the Oregon House, where she had a wide circle of friends who lament her death. She also lived at Camptonville for fifteen years, and there made many true friends. She has resided in this city off and on for three or four years and was very well known here. Death came very suddenly, as she was up and around in apparently good health Tuesday afternoon and evening, but she was taken sick with a congested chill. A physician was called, but in spite of all efforts to save her life, she passed away at the hour named. The deceased leaves to mourn her loss, two sons, Frank and Edward Darneille, and three daughters, Mrs. M. B. Turner of Comptonville, Mrs. J. Watkins of Sacramento, and Mrs. E. K. Van Dine of San Francisco. The funeral will take place from the undertaking parlors of J. K. Kelly at 8 o'clock Friday morning after which the cortege will repair to Bangor where the interment will take place at 11 o'clock."
