Graveside services for Shannon J. Darland, 88, of Mineola was Sept. 13, 2011, in Rose Lawn Cemetery in Tyler.
He was born on Feb. 8, 1923, in Electra to Shannon W. and Nora Taylor Darland. Mr. Darland joined the United States Navy, where he served on the USS Subchaser 676 in the European and Pacific theaters during World War II.
Mr. and Mrs. Darland owned and operated the East Texas Coffee Service of Tyler for 13 years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Darland was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Frances Darland and his three sisters.
