Lester Dwain Dark, 91, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at University Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Lester was born April 16, 1921, in Fairbury, Nebraska to L.D. and Imo Dark. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII with the 543rd Amphibious Engineers in New Guinea and the Philippines. Lester was an active member of Union Park United Methodist Church and had served on various boards and committees and traveled on several mission trips. He enjoyed woodworking and remodeling.
Per Lester's request, his body has been donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Union Park United Methodist Church for the Up Kids Program that Lester supported.
