From the 11/23/1918 Van Wert, Ohio, Times: "Mrs. Elvina Mullen, 63, Chestnut street, died Saturday morning after an illness of more than two years' duration. She was born in Van Wert county and spent her entire life in this city. The deceased is survived by her husband, A.R. Mullen, and one daughter, Mrs. A.L. Burcaw. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the United Brethren church. Interment at Woodland. The husband is now a patient at the Van Wert County hospital and is said to be in a critical condition."
