Mrs. John Darger died August 7, 1901, aged 71 years, 1 month and 26 days. She was born in Kirchweyhe, Germany, where she married John Darger in 1852. Her maiden name was Catherine Dora Meyer. In 1862 she came with her husband to Reedsburg and was among the first of the German settlers to locate in our vicinity.
For 26 years she was an invalid, being confined with rheumatism. When Mr. Darger awoke, he found her lying dead at his side.
She is survived by her husband and an only child, Mrs. Ernest Wolters. The funeral was held Friday and was largely attended.
