LEAVES HERE FOR VISIT AT FONDY, DIES
Adolph Danz, Husband of Manitowoc Girl, Ends Life in Park There
Adolph Danz, former Quincy, Ill. man and husband of a Manitowoc girl, who,
with his wife, had been visiting her brother, Robert Lueth, N. Sixth street,
this city, for several weeks, ended his life in a city park at Fond du Lac
late yesterday. Press dispatches say that Mr. Danz fired a shot into his body
as he stood on the bank of an old log channel in the park. The body was
recovered from the water and identified by papers found on the person.
Mr. Danz, who has suffered a nervous breakdown that had necessitated his closing
his business and home at Quincy, came here a month ago with Mrs. Danz, who was
Laura Lueth, of this city, previous to her marriage. He had made no improvement
in health and was deeply despondent although there had never been any indication
of mental trouble. Mr. and Mrs. Danz left here a few days ago to visit his brother
at Fond du Lac and it is presumed that his mind suddenly snapped while he was
walking in the park.
Bring Body Here for Funeral
Relatives here were notified last night of the death but no details until
dispatches today told the story. Arrangements have been made for burial in this
city and Mrs. Danz is expected to reach Manitowoc this afternoon with the body.
The funeral will probably be held Friday.
Planned To Locate Here
Mr. Danz had been engaged in the jewelry business at Quincy for a number of years
and had been planning on locating in this city or at Fond du Lac the coming year.
His one son, Clifford, recently graduated from college had been working and
studying at the trade and was to join his father in the business venture.
Mr. Danz was about 50 years of age and was married to Laura Lueth in this city 24
years ago. The one son and the widow survive.
Funeral arrangements will not be completed until arrival of Mrs. Danz late today.
