Andrew was first married to Ruanna Weast daughter of Henry & Susannah Huffer Weast and they had three daughters. Ruanna died when the youngest was not yet one year of age. Having been left with three young daughters he then married her sister Susanna Weast. He and Susanna had six daughters and two sons. Andrew served in Col. Henry A. Cole's 1st Potomac Home Brigade Calvary also known as Cole's Volunteer Maryland Calvary Company H and among his duties were that of a cooper.

Enlisted in Company F, Maryland 1st PHB Cavalry Regiment Rank at enlistment: Private on 24 February 1864.
Promoted to Full Corporal. Enlisted as a Corporal in Company H, 1st PHB Cavalry Regiment Maryland on 23 Apr 1864.

Mustered Out Company H, 1st PHB Cavalry Regiment Maryland on 28 Jun 1865 at Harper's Ferry, WV. due to injuries sustained at Harpers Ferry.

Andrew Danner Succumbs to
heart Trouble.


Deceased Was a Union Veteran of the
Civil War, Having Been a Member
of Cole's Calvary-Drew a Pension
and Lived Near Downsville.

Andrew Danner,of near Downsville,
a Union veteran of the Civil War, hav-
ing served in Cole's calvary, dropped
over dead in a cornfield onthe Levi
Beachley farm, tenanted by Newton
Hoffman, along the pike leading from
Downsville to Williamsport about 3
o'clock Wednesday afternoon. He had
been a sufferer from organic heart
trouble for some years. He was en-
gaged in the work of husking corn at
the time and was in the act of tying a
bundle of fodder when the fatal attack
came on. Life was extinct before his
wife, who was in the field with him,
could summonaid. The deceased was
84 years old.
Mr. Danner was a member of the
United Brethren church, Otterbein
congregation, In the "Neck," and was
regarded as a most excellent old man
who aimed to live a Christian life and
who had many friends. He was a
splendid horseman, having learned the
art of handling and riding horses dur-
ing his army service. Mr. Danner re-
ceived a government pension. For a
number of years he worked on the
Downsville turnpike. He loast the use
of one eye as the result of being struck
by a spall. he is survived by his sec-
ond wife and a number of children, in-
cluding William Danner, of near
Downsville; Mrs. Martha Stouffer,of
near St. James; Mrs. Edward Dorsey,
near Dowsnville; Mrs. Clinton Burger,
near Falling Waters; Mrs. Elizabeth
Limm, Hagerstown. Funeral Friday
morning. Services at the Christian
church, Downsville. Interment at

Andrew was my 2nd Great Grandfather.

According to his death certificate he died in Coffmansville.
