John Danielson was a wonderful husband, father and freind as well as a dedicated teacher. John touched the lives of so many people around him and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Annette, daughters Colleen, Michelle, and Heather; in-laws Grethe and Palle Seebach; sister and brother-in-law Marianne and Jim Burke; mother Millie Kaestel and husband Werner, of Alabama; sister Tammy Perdue and husband Lee; and nephews Matt and Jeff.
John attended Ashland University in Ohio for his undergraduate degree and Kent State University for his Master's degree. He lived in Ohio until 1983 when he moved to Arlington where he received a job at Young Junior High, a school that two of his daughters eventually attended. He then received a job at Martin High school where he made an impact on all of his students. Not only was he the crazy "Mr. D." that stood on desks or slid across floors, but he was the teacher that received the AWARD Teacher of Excellence honor in 1993. He finished his career strong in the "JD" fashion teaching AP Government and Economics at Grandview High School.
John was an avid runner and participated in several races throughout his life. He achieved every runner's dream of running in the prestigious Boston Marathon in 1989. It was also an annual tradition of his to run in the Turkey Trot. John has now finished the biggest and last race of his life. In the final hours he was surrounded by family and loved ones and went peacefully Saturday morning September 7th, 2002.
