Lora Mae Anderson, a longtime resident of Georgetown, Texas passed away on January 26, 2013, at the age of 91. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Ramsey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Georgetown Church of Christ Church. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Georgetown.
Lora Mae was born on April 3, 1921 to her parents, Noel Daniels and Ophelia Elizabeth (Shuffield) Daniels, just a few miles west of Georgetown, in Liberty Hill, Texas. After graduating from high school, Lora Mae attended Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in San Marcos, Texas. At 20 years of age, she married her one true love, Mr. Washington Weaver Anderson, on November 3, 1941 in Georgetown. Lora Mae's education and business sense led her to open the doors to the Piggly Wiggly, in Georgetown. She enjoyed her career as a business owner and retired in 1975.
Lora Mae's husband, Washington, predeceased her in May of 1995.
Lora Mae's life was a testament to her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Bro Talley and Jim Hogg baptized her at the age of 13 on Sunday, June 24, 1934. She was a faithful and serving member of the Georgetown Church of Christ. Lora Mae's family finds comfort knowing that her absence her on earth, ensures her presence with the Lord.
Lora Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Ophelia Daniels; brother, William Daniels; sister-in-law, Barbara Daniels; and her husband of over 53 years, Washington Weaver Anderson.
To cherish her memory, Lora Mae leaves behind her daughter, Deborah Elizabeth Cooley and husband Steve of Florence, Texas; son, Daniel Weaver Anderson and wife Laura Green of Georgetown, Texas; six grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honored to serve as pallbearers includes: Justin Ivicic, Jason Ivicic, Ryan Williams, Cody Glasscock, Travis Anderson, Hunter Anderson and Aubrey Daniels. Honorary pallbearers includes: James Daniels, James Darwin Daniels, Charles Burson, Kenneth Daniels, Gary Warren, Brian Shuffield, Dale Shuffield and Jesse Torres.
