Martha Tay Adams, 81, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013, at her residence in Walnut Springs. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 9, at the Walnut Springs Baptist Church with Brady Dempsey and Chaplain Steve Durbin officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 8, at the Lawson Memorial Chapel in Walnut Springs.
Martha was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi, in the Bond Community, to the late Oscar E. Daniels and Emma Sue McKay Daniels. On September 1, 1956 she married Billy Joe Adams. Martha was a homemaker and a member of the Walnut Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Reggie Cumberland and Don Cumberland; and brothers, Jack, Dudley, and Percy Daniels.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Joe Adams, of Walnut Springs; daughters, Beverly Huffman and husband, Mike, of Walnut Springs, and Patricia Bland, of Angleton; grandchildren, Amanda Cumberland Goyer and husband, Justin, Todd Cumberland, Mindy Huffman Davis and husband, Matt, Kelly Huffman Worrell and husband, Cody, Brandon Adams, and James Hardin; great-grandchildren, Kelby, Emily, Lily, Noah, Russell, and Ava; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
